Service Options

Planning a burial or cremation service can be a very difficult process for families who have just lost a loved one. Woodward Cremation and Funeral Services believes it’s important to provide those who are grieving with a supportive environment in which they can begin to find closure, say goodbye, and come to terms with the loss.

Cremation and Burial Services

Whether you are planning a simple direct cremation or a celebration of life with friends and family, deciding on a service option is often the first step. If you would like to hold a gathering in our Ormond Beach funeral home, Daytona Beach funeral home, church, or another gathering center, we can help plan an event that honors the life of your loved one.

At Woodward Cremation and Funeral Services, our specialized and dedicated staff will be pleased to help you navigate this process and arrange everything you need to honor the memory of your loved one.

Burial Services

Burial is one of the most common types of final disposition where the deceased is placed into the ground. Having a burial service allows you to give your loved ones a proper funeral ceremony that they deserve. Witnessing the burial helps you honor and respect your loved one, while also helping you process their passing and cope with your grief. Additionally, you may choose burial based on your religious or personal beliefs.

We proudly service all cemeteries in the greater Daytona Beach area and beyond including Daytona Memorial Park, Volusia Memorial, Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, and many others. We will work with any cemetery to coordinate a burial and help you every step of the way to ensure we honor your loved ones' final wishes.

  • Immediate burial means that your loved one will be buried or entombed without a public service or gathering. Your family may decide on this option if your loved one requested that there be no visitation or service.
  • Visitation, also called a viewing, wake, or calling hours, allows family and friends to gather in a room with the departed loved one in an open or closed casket and say goodbye or offer their support and sympathy to the bereaved. Having a visitation before the funeral service allows you to pay your respects to the deceased and express your condolences to their family.
  • Funeral or memorial services can take place at our Daytona Beach or Ormond Beach funeral home, in a church, or even at your home. The service is a ceremony that serves to celebrate, honor, and remember the life of the deceased. Whether traditional or unique, both the visitation and the funeral service can be personalized to reflect the individuality of your loved one.
  • A graveside service, chapel, or committal services are held at the cemetery, and allow family and friends to be present as their loved one is transferred to his or her final disposition through ground burial.
  • A celebration of life service is similar to a funeral service, but it is personalized, and it gives families more options for creativity, and often takes place after the funeral. It’s about family and friends coming together to share memories of their loved ones and what made them special.

Cremation Services

Cremation has become the most popular method of final disposition, according to the NFDA. There are several reasons why you may choose a cremation service. Some reasons include religious or personal beliefs, the desire to be more environmentally friendly, and the cost.

At Woodward, we operate our own crematory in Daytona Beach to guarantee your loved one will receive the best care. We offer a range of low-cost cremation services, including:

  • Interment means that you'll bury or entomb your loved one's cremated remains. This can be in a family plot, a memorial site, a cremation niche or urn garden, or in a variety of other indoor and outdoor locations. Ask our staff for a detailed list of interment possibilities.
  • Graveside services are similar to those celebrated alongside a traditional ground burial, in which loved ones are present at the burial of the cremated remains and honor the deceased through memorial prayers or other meaningful tributes.
  • Ash Scattering Ceremony allows you to spread your loved one's cremated remains in a memorial garden, a cemetery, over water, or across any other meaningful site. You also can choose to scatter some of the cremated remains and retain the rest in an urn for interment or another form of disposition.
  • Placing cremated remains in multiple urns allows family members who are separated by distance to each feel the comfort of having their loved one's final resting place in a nearby location.
