Marian Gigliotti Ryan Shugart passed to eternal life on January 3, 2018. Marian was born in Clinton, New York to Felix Gigliotti and Rosealda Pinnsonqult on April 1st, 1932. She graduated high school from West Winfield Central School in 1950 and attended Cobleskill University where she graduated in 1952. She was employed at Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital as a Therapeutic Dietitian in Cooperstown New York.
She married Francis Ryan in 1955 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in West Winfield NY. Together they had 3 sons and 1 daughter. Timothy, Oviedo FL, Marlene Hanna (Rick) Gainesville, FL, Tom, Auburn, NY, and Neil, Timberlake, NC. The family moved to Holly Hill in 1970. In 1973 Marian began raising her 4 children as a single working mother. She worked for a short time at the Property Appraisers office then for many years at World Color in Ormond Beach FL. She ended her hard working career as the dietary coordinator at Bishops Glen retirement center in Holly Hill where she was awarded the Compassionate Employee of the Year in 1989.
In 1984 she married John Shugart who died in 1992. They enjoyed many good years together.

She was a wonderful mother and friend. She could always be counted on to pick up a friend at the airport, help with transportation to doctor appointments or call people when they couldn’t rely on an alarm clock. She made many wonderful friends on Flamingo Drive over the years.
She always took great joy in hosting family gatherings, especially on holidays. Cooking, visiting with family and entertaining grandchildren. She loved to talk to her sister and hearing about her many cousins, nieces, and nephews up north.
A dedicated attendee at 7:30am mass at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Marian found the good in all. She loved a good joke and was kind and compassionate to everyone in every circumstance. She loved her family and home in Holly Hill where she raised her 4 children.
