John Edward Lecours, age 77, of Port Orange, passed away February 6, 2017 at Halifax Hospital after a short, fierce battle with ITP (Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura).
John was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Mary Louise Wood Lecours, his mother, Alberta Marie Dinger Lecours, and his father Isidore Roy Lecours.
John was adored by his family and is lovingly remembered and survived by his daughter, Terri Lightfoot (Larry), son, Gordon Lecours, grandchildren Brittany Goble (Will), Lance and Kayla Lightfoot, great grandchildren, Alexie, Tara and Jaelyn, brother Arthur Lecours (Gloria), sister Marlene Allen, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
John was born in Niagara Falls, New York and graduated from Mainland High School in 1957. He worked for National Airlines which later became Pan American Airlines and later worked as a Corporate Travel Agent for Southwest Gas in Las Vegas before retirement. He lived in the Daytona area all his life except for the 28 years he and his family lived in Las Vegas, NV.
At this time, no formal service is planned, however, we know John, Dad, Papa, Uncle John will be remembered and remain in the hearts of all who loved him.
